资源简介:

This is one of two boulders with petroglyphs on dispaly in front of Baldwin Hall on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens. The large, granite boulder modeled here has been known to settlers in[ Forsyth County](http://abob.libs.uga.edu/bobk/rockpet.html) since around the mid-19th century. This stone was gifted to the University in 1963 and has been the subject of much speculation since. There is no direct knowledge of what the symbols represent, though it is believed that they may depict constellations. Today, you can visit the beautiful UGA campus and see these petroglyphs for yourself. If you happen to be in Florida, keep an eye out for our [Archaeology Works: Stars](http://fpan.us/workshops/archworks.php) program which features this fascinating object.
