Transcriptomic analysis of the nickel response in roots and shoots in the nickel hyperaccumulator Leucocroton havanensis (Euphorbiaceae) endemic from Cuba.

The goal of this study was to produce a reference transcriptome for the nickel hyperaccumulator Leucocroton havanensis endemic from Cuba and use this transcriptome as a reference to identify genes responding to the presence or the absence of nickel in both roots and shoots of this species Overall design: To perform this analysis, Leucocroton havanensis plantlets were grown in vitro on a medium without or with nickel for 6 weeks after germination. Roots and shoots were then collected collected separatly to extract RNA. cDNA were then sequenced by Illumina paired-end sequencing. One repetition per sample was used in this study .
