Apr 1859-Jul 1863 (7/5304; microfilm copy SR Reel 1398), Oct 1874-Jan 1878 (7/5305; microfilm copy SR Reel 1398), Aug 1882-Feb 1886 (7/5306; microfilm copy SR Reel 1399), 1886-87 (7/5307; microfilm copy SR Reel 1399), 1892-95 (7/5308; microfilm copy SR Reel 1399), 1898-1901 (7/5313; microfilm copy SR Reel 1400), 1949-51, 1954-59 (6/4778-81). 10 vols. These volumes are a record of inmates of Liverpool Asylum from 1859 (when the institution was run by the Benevolent Society). The form of the records changes considerably from the earlier to the later volumes and there are also some changes in the information contained. In general, however, the registers show the name of the inmate, age on admission and discharge, the date of admission and death or discharge, his country of origin, religion, the authority by which he was admitted to the asylum and the circumstances of his leaving it (though not the cause of death), date of arrival in the colony, ship and occupation.
