The CDP cloud microphysics dataset contains in situ measurements collected during CADDIWA field campaign along the SAFIRE F20 flight track with a Cloud Droplet Probe (CDP). The CDP (from the PMA plateform) was installed on a pod underneath the F20 starboard wing (inner position). The CDP is a cloud particle spectrometer that counts and sizes cloud droplets in the 2-50 micrometer range into 30 size classes with a resolution of 1 to 2 µm. The raw data (counts per second) is processed using DMT built-in sizing & counting algorithms. The probe sample volume is calculated using the true TAS (from F20 Core measurement dataset) and calibrated sample area. Data acquisition was synchronized with the F20 GPS clock and the data is geolocalized using aircraft position. The dataset contains one file per flight, 8 files in total (1). (1) : Due to a technical issue (laser diode failure) at the end of flight #7 (2021/09/11 AM), no CDP data are available for flight #8 (2021/09/11 PM). The data from flight #9 to #13 are taken with a spare instrument (CDP v1) installed on the F20 after flight #8.
CDP云微物理数据集收录了CADDIWA野外科考期间沿SAFIRE F20飞行航线获取的原位测量数据,所用测量设备为云滴探头(Cloud Droplet Probe,CDP)。该设备依托PMA平台搭载于F20右舷机翼下方的吊舱内侧位置。云滴探头属于云粒子光谱仪,可对2~50微米量程内的云滴进行计数与粒径分级,共划分30个粒径档,粒径分辨率为1~2微米。原始数据(每秒计数数值)通过DMT内置的粒径分析与计数算法完成处理。探头的采样体积通过真实空速(True Airspeed,TAS,取自F20核心测量数据集)与校准后的采样面积计算得到。数据采集过程与F20的GPS时钟保持同步,并通过飞机位置信息实现数据地理定位。本数据集按飞行架次单文件存储,共计8个数据文件。(1)
(1) 由于第7架次(2021年9月11日上午)发生激光二极管故障这一技术问题,第8架次(2021年9月11日下午)无可用CDP数据。第9至13架次的数据由第8架次后安装于F20的备用设备(CDP v1)采集得到。
