Any ideal exercise under strategic planning is to be done only on the constructed average balance sheet matched with the actual P&L over a period. But, mostly all the banks derive projections only on the available audited terminal balance sheet and the P&L items. In fact, all banks may evolve for a system generated average balance sheet preferably on a fortnightly/monthly/quarterly/half yearly/yearly basis so as to assess the performance still in a better way. This may help the banks, as a ready reckoner, to arrive a short term or long term planning budget .
