Van to Vault DPA Survey: Down Payment Assistance in 83 U.S. Metros (2026)
收藏资源简介:
v4.1, 24 September 2026. Full fact check against the agencies' own documents, plus removal of internal working notes. Counts: 73 program_found / 7 none_found / 3 unconfirmed (v3: 72 / 7 / 4). Notes are no longer cut at 300 characters; Ohio moves to OHFA's current 3% (conventional) or 3.5% (government) of the purchase price; flat dollar caps that appear in no agency document are replaced with the published percentage; two-unit limits are written into the rows in each program's own words; Tennessee THDA assistance is confirmed usable on a 1-4 unit home the buyer lives in. See CHANGELOG.md and vantovault.com/corrections/. v3, September 2026. Re-sourcing correction, not a new data edition. Phoenix and Tucson move from none_found to unconfirmed: the Arizona IDA Home Plus program's own FAQ does not state 2-4 unit eligibility (it refers multi-unit questions to the lender), so the earlier "none", which rested on a third-party directory, is downgraded to "unconfirmed". Albuquerque stays none_found but is re-sourced to Housing New Mexico's FirstHome fact sheet (single-family only). Counts: 72 program_found / 7 none_found / 4 unconfirmed (v2: 72 / 9 / 2). All other rows unchanged. Correction logged at vantovault.com/corrections/ and in the JSON meta.corrections block. v2, August 2026. Three metros corrected after agency confirmations received in writing during August: Raleigh (NC Home Advantage, up to 3% of loan; guide s6.1 states 2-4 unit eligibility), Las Vegas (Nevada Home Is Possible HIP-DPA, up to 5% of loan; NHD rate sheet lists 1-4 unit residences), and Spokane (WSHFC Home Advantage Needs-Based, up to $10,000; two-unit eligibility confirmed by WSHFC program compliance). Birmingham moved from unconfirmed to none found (AHFA confirmed single-family only). Counts are now 72 metros with a usable program, 9 with none found, 2 unconfirmed. No methodology change. A hand-checked survey of down payment assistance (DPA) availability across 83 U.S. metro areas, compiled in 2026. For each metro: the program name, the maximum assistance amount, a source URL, an as-of date, and a status field separating "program_found" (72 metros) from "none_found" (9) and "unconfirmed" (2), so a checked-but-empty metro is never confused with an unchecked one. Several state and local agencies confirmed or corrected entries in writing during compilation. The survey focuses on programs usable for owner-occupied 2-4 unit homes (house hacking); programs that exclude 2-4 unit properties are recorded as such rather than counted. Files: CSV and JSON, identical content. Maintained at Van to Vault, where the methodology and a readable version live: https://vantovault.com/library/down-payment-assistance-duplex/
