Letter books were the means by which copies of correspondence despatched from the office were retained for future reference.This series was incorrectly cited in both editions of the PROV 1985 List of Holdings as VPRS 4947.
发函存根簿用于留存办公室发出的往来信函副本，以备日后查考。该档系列在1985年版《PROV馆藏清单》的两个版本中均被错误著录为VPRS 4947。
