Oral-Facial Cleft Families: Phenotype and Genetics (OFC1)

The overall goal of this study and its associated studies is to map genetic loci involved in CL/P and those associated features. Dr. Marazita and her collaborators will test the hypothesis that phenotypic features associated with CL/P - including both physical measurements and psychosocial behavioral traits, can be used to more accurately define the expression of CL/P gene(s) segregating in families. This phenotypic information will also be used to refine genetic mapping studies of CL/P.
