Global climate-driven land degradation pressure under CMIP6: Processed data and R scripts

This record contains the processed geospatial data, statistical outputs, and R scripts supporting the study “Global climate-driven land degradation pressure under CMIP6: A pathway-based assessment.” The dataset supports a global 0.25° assessment of potential climate-driven land-degradation pressure under SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 for 2020–2039 and 2040–2059. The analytical framework integrates four process-oriented components: the Aridification Pressure Score (APS), Erosive Rainfall Pressure Score (ERPS), Dry–Wet Interaction Pressure Score (DWIPS), and Growing-Season Land Stress Index (GLSI). These components are combined into the Climate-driven Land Degradation Pressure Index (CLDPI). The deposited materials include final derived GeoTIFF rasters, pathway-classification outputs, scenario-difference layers, area-weighted statistical tables, Q70/Q75/Q80 classification-sensitivity results, alternative-weighting and leave-one-component-out results, pathway-transition matrices, vegetation-context outputs based on NDVI and VOD, figure-generation scripts, and the R scripts used in the revised analytical workflow. All primary analyses use common pooled normalization, fractional terrestrial-area weighting, and a fixed complete-case domain comprising 237,894 grid cells and 129.327 million km² of non-Antarctic terrestrial area. The climate inputs are ensemble-median CMIP6 products. CLDPI should be interpreted as a climate-pressure screening and prioritization tool rather than as a direct measure or prediction of observed land degradation. Original third-party climate and remote-sensing source datasets are not redistributed in this record. Users should obtain those datasets from their original providers.
