Illumina sequence libraries for cDNA sequencing were prepared from the extracted RNA using the NEBNext Ultra II Directional RNA Library Prep with Sample Purification Beads and NEBNext Poly(A) mRNA Magnetic Isolation Module (New England BioLabs) for C. japonicus samples. These libraries were prepared according to the manufacturer's instructions. Amplification of the adapter added cDNA was achieved by PCR. The cDNA libraries were sequenced by NovaSeq X plus à (Illumina) in 150 bp paired-ends.
