资源简介:
Currently, how estuarine ecosystems respond to river regulation has become a globally concerned issue. The Yellow River Estuary, subject to the profound influences of both natural and anthropogenic activities, provides a compelling case for examining the impacts of fluctuating river discharges heightened by artificial flood events. Our research utilizes comprehensive indices to characterize the changes in macrobenthos during different discharge periods in the Yellow River Estuary. Distinct community bifurcations between northern and southern groups were observed under different discharge regimes, highlighting the profound effects of artificial flooding on estuarine communities. The findings underscore the necessity for a more ecologically considerate approach in the management of flux regulation, particularly in ecologically sensitive estuarine zones. The study presents practical implications for river management within the context of ecological conservation. We submit our research entitled “How marine macrobenthic fauna responds to river discharge and artificial flood in large river estuary” to publish in the journal of Ecology and Evolution. This dataset is the metadata of the above research and was uploaded to the Open Research section as supporting material.
