ABBE Corpus

ABBE Corpus (Animated Beings Emotional Corpus) is a newly dual-annotated text corpus developed by the College of Computing and Information Sciences, Florida International University, focusing on capturing the emotional experiences of animated beings in text. This corpus consists of 30 chapters with a total of 134,513 words, sourced from an English novel corpus, and covers 2,010 unique emotional expressions and 2,227 animated beings. Emotional expressions are categorized according to Plutchik's 8-category emotional model, with an inter-annotator agreement score of 0.83 Cohen's Kappa, demonstrating extremely high annotation quality. The corpus creation process elaborates on the annotation scheme and procedures, with the goal of supporting the development of targeted emotional expression modeling or understanding systems.
