Figure 4: Data for representative chromatograms showing efficient separation of the expected substrates and products of maltooligosaccharides in the α-amylase assay and low molecular weight sugars in the α-glucosidase assay, by HPAE-PAD ion chromatography (the mixture loaded onto the column contains 250 pmol of each standard; 2.5 µL of a 100 µM solution was injected). Maltopentaose (Mal-5), maltotetraose (Mal-4), maltotriose (Mal-3) and maltose are presented at a concentration of 100 µM each in phosphate buffered saline (PBS). Glucose (G), sucrose (S), fructose (F), isomaltose (I), and maltose (M) are all at a concentration of 10 µg/mL in sodium phosphate buffer (SPB).
