Total global solar PV capacity forecast 2015-2028

Global cumulative solar PV (photovoltaic) capacity has presented a trend of continuous growth since 2015. The growth in the solar market represents a shift of global markets towards renewable and distributed energy technologies. Between 2015 and 2022, figures increased by more than 900 gigawatts. Moreover, cumulative solar PV capacity is expected to surpass 3.5 terawatts by 2027, representing an increase of over 2.3 terawatts compared to 2022.
