Generator ownership and firm productivity

The data are from the World Bank Enterprise Surveys (Hallward-Driemeier & Pritchett, 2015): 334 country-by-survey rounds across 153 economies, 2006 to 2024. The unit is the establishment; the treatment indicates owning or sharing a generator in the last fiscal year. The outcome is log sales per permanent worker in constant 2009 US dollars; value added per worker, revenue total factor productivity measure, and gross margin come from the same accounts.
