Role and regulation of membrane efflux pumps in Staphylococcus pseudintermedius clinical isolates

Efflux pump (EP) overexpression is one of the strategies employed by Staphylococcus spp. to withstand antibiotic treatment. This process is governed by complex regulatory mechanisms that remain incompletely understood. The aim of this project is to investigate the efflux capacity of Staphylococcus pseudintermedius clinical isolates, explore its role in multidrug resistance, and shed light on the molecular mechanisms driving EP expression. In this context, we have deposited whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data of S. pseudintermedius isolates from cases of canine pyoderma exhibiting high efflux activity.
