Variations in proximate composition and energetic values among marine fish from south Pacific islands

In this dataset, we provided measured information on the proximate composition (moisture, proteins, lipids, ash, and carbohydrates) from 204 fish belonging to 17 families across four islands in the southern Pacific Ocean (Fiji, Moorea, New Caledonia, and Rapa Nui), mostly on coral reefs, allowing calculating their energetic values. 
Fish individual sizes are expressed in cm (TL), moisture, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and ash are expressede in % of wet weight, and energetic values are expressed in kJ/g.
