Dataset for influence of microtopography on soil properties, vegetation distribution and growth in the floodplain

Affected by seasonal and temporary inundation, floodplain usually has extremely rich wetland vegetation resources and species diversity. The floodplain in Poyang Lake is widely distributed and is the typical representative of lake wetland in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River, China. In this study, a typical floodplain in Poyang Lake were selected as the study area. The floodplain topography, soil physico-chemical properties, and vegetation types and growth characteristics were surveyed to understand the influence of microtopographic factors on the soil and vegetation properties.
