This series consists of the correspondence of the VA 4276 Office of the Correctional Services Commissioner od the Department of Justice VA 3085. This office was responsible for the setting of corrections policy and standards, the classification of prisoners and management of sentences, and for monitoring the performance of public and private correctional service providers.On 1 July 2003 Corrections Victoria (VA 4819) was established when the Office of the Correctional Services Commissioner integrated with CORE - the Public Correctional Enterprise (VA 4367).
