This file contains data for everyone who appeared for the discharge session in 1952. The file contains information about military skill, geographical background, father's professional background, own educational and professional background, and own educational and professional plans. In addition, the file contains data for the Norwegian Armed Forces' aptitude tests. In 1950, standardized group testing was introduced at the discharge sessions as a permanent part of the assessment of the individual man's mental prerequisites for military training and service. Several different tests were used to map mental prerequisites, including: two tests for assessing general ability level (U4 Mathematical Problems and U5 Figure Patterns), a test for technical insight (U3 Mechanical Problems), two subtests for arithmetic proficiency (U2S Subtraction and U2M Multiplication), and a test for personal relationships (U1B).
