UK Plug-In Solar: DNO Notification Requirements by Licence Area

Machine-readable dataset of Distribution Network Operator (DNO) notification requirements for plug-in solar microgenerators in Great Britain, covering all 14 electricity distribution licence areas (MPAN distributor IDs 10–23) across 6 operator groups. Records the 28-day notification deadline established nationally by ENA Engineering Recommendation G98 section 1.1, made under regulation 22(2)(c) of the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 and the Health and Safety Executive's certificate of exemption of August 2008. Each field carries its primary source. The dataset explicitly records, as unresolved, whether the G98 notification route is open to a householder installing a device without a registered installer. G98 places the duty on the installer; one operator states that only registered installers may submit on a customer's behalf; five do not address the question. This is recorded as null rather than inferred. Compiled ahead of SI 2026/848 (in force 27 August 2026), which permits plug-in microgenerators up to 800 W maximum rated AC output.
