N6-methyladenine (6mA) DNA modification in eukaryotic genomes has emerged as a potential epigenetic mark. However, little is known about the genomic landscape of 6mA modification and how 6mA epigenetic codes are interpreted in higher eukaryotes. Here we profile genome-wide distribution of 6mA in Drosophila early embryos, and find that 6mA modification exhibits defined and temporally dynamic patterns.
