Abstract :
Gender disparities have endured in society for an extended period. The significance of school textbooks and curricula in promoting gender equality and challenging existing gender stereotypes cannot be emphasised enough, despite the implementation of different initiatives. All elements of our educational system, such as textbooks, narratives, visuals, and illustrations, contribute to the development of gender stereotypes in young individuals. A comprehensive assessment of the New Policy 2020 was used to carry out a comparative examination of Indian educational establishments with the aim of pinpointing the deficiencies in our system, indicating that our country still has a considerable distance to go in attaining SDGs 4 and 5. The scholars have furthermore suggested several methodologies and potential resolutions with the objective of transforming India's educational environment and fostering academic fairness and inclusiveness. This paper investigates the proposals of the Education 2030 Framework for 'Revitalising Public Education in India to Ensure Gender Inclusivity.' It also presents a multi-sectoral approach to empower women as a necessary condition.
