资源简介:
Eight additional bulk soil samples from stratigraphic horizons in trenches excavated
across the Nephi segment of the Wasatch fault, Utah, were floated to recover organic
fragments suitable for radiocarbon analysis. Samples were recovered from both the Willow
Creek North (WCN) and Willow Creek South (WCS) trenches. Botanic components and detrital
charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated. After
initial examination of the samples was complete, charred material was selected for submission
to the Graphite Laboratory at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in Livermore,
California, and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI) in Woods Hole,
Massachusetts, for AMS radiocarbon dating.
