This series consists primarily of copies of letters forwarded to the Superintendent of the Port Phillip District by the Governor in Sydney for the Superintendent's information.One bundle deals with the issue of the destination of the Pentonville prison exiles and the decision to land them at Geelong rather than at Launceston. A second bundle consists of correspondence of the Colonial Architect (Sydney) regarding the provision of fittings and interior decoration for the new Government House in Sydney. The main issue was to do with the question of whether the local Legislative Council, the British Treasury or Crown revenues were to pay for these.The third bundle concerns copies of correspondence and Executive Council Minutes regarding the dismissal of Mr Justice Willis as the Resident Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in the Port Phillip District.
