Sweep net dataset

The 2050 ecology class headed out the woodlot and grasslands by Chimneystack Rd. on the York University Campus. The temperature was approximately 18 degree celcius and raining. During this time we randomly selected an area of grasslands where we used a transect and sweep net to record the number of insects caught over an interval of time. This was repeated on 10 occasions during the 1 hour we were at the grasslands. Based on the data collected it appears that rain effects airborne insects normal behaviour and makes them difficult to locate.2050级生态学课程班级前往约克大学（York University）校园内烟囱路（Chimneystack Rd）旁的林地与草原开展野外调研。当日气温约为18摄氏度，且恰逢降雨天气。在此期间，我们随机选取一处草原区域，采用样带（transect）与扫网（sweep net）相结合的采样方法，记录单位时长内捕获的昆虫数量。在草原区域开展调研的1小时内，该采样流程共重复执行10次。基于本次采集到的数据，初步推断降雨会干扰飞行昆虫的正常行为，使其难以被定位捕捉。
