Gulf of Riga
a) Nine Stations in the NE Gulf of Riga were sampled between 4 and 9
times during May - June, 1957-1971. Sampling gear was a juday net
(mesh 90um). Zooplankton were identified to species level. Not all
stations were sampled each survey.
b) One Station in the NE Gulf of Riga, 58.22N, 24.32E was sampled
weekly during the ice free period, May-November from 1972 to the
present. Sampling gear was a juday net (mesh 90um). Zooplankton
identified to species level.
As sampling and sample analysis methods have remained unchanged over
time, these two datasets when merged together allow the
characterization of zooplankton dynamics in the NE Gulf of Riga since
1957.
Transects:
c) 2 transects of six and nine stations respectively in the
NE Gulf of Riga were sampled monthly between 1971-1976, using a juday
net (mesh 90um). Zooplankton were identified to species level.
Not all stations were sampled in each survey.
d) A transect of thirteen stations in the NE Gulf of Riga were sampled
monthly between 1994-98, using a juday net (90um mesh). Zooplankton
identified to species level. Not all stations sampled each survey.
