THE PROVISION OF SERVICES TO ASSIST CANE FARMERS TO ADOPT COMPLETE NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT PLANNING

The project will encourage participating cane farmers to reduce nutrient application rates, building on the previous participation of farmers in the Queensland Government RP161 project. This will involve working with farmers through on-farm demonstration, agronomy support and providing recommendations to encourage adoption of rates which are below the regulated minimum rate (e.g. movement of farmers from ‘C’ class/medium water quality risk to ‘B’ or ‘A’ class/low water quality risk).
