Dataset Supporting Assessing evaporative cooling from seawater spraying in the marine boundary layer, ACP 2026. The simulations were performed based on a DALES 4.4.2 branch, found here, . This includes the turbine parametrizations but additional changes have been made to improve thermodynamics and an added component mimicing seawater spraying (as described in Appendix B). Most explicit changes to DALES formulation paper by Heus et al. 2010 is the option for Seawater spraying, Wind turbine parametrization and Changes in thermodynamics. Broader description and development of DALES can be found here Find the exact used DALES version in dales_evap_cool.zip In Simulation Files, you find: Inputs (input files) HH > T37_RH65 > prof.inp, lscale.inp, namoptions.xxx, scalar.inp.xxx (for the Turbine Spray experiments 031) and similar for the Spin Up experiments (030) HL > T37_RH45 > same LH > T27_RH65 > same LL > T27_RH45 > same turbine input > all necessary input files for turbine parametrization Outputs Again for each atmospheric set, profiles.xxx.nc Where xxx is 031 (Turbine Spray); 032 (Spray only); 033 (Ship Spray); 034 (Turbine); 035 (REF) corresponding to Table 1 in the study paper. More output data, such as 4D fielddumps of qt, T, etc., can be made available upon request to Annelot Broerze (a.e.w.broerze@tudelft.nl).
