Replication Data for: Diversity of soil bacterial communities in response to fonio genotypes and pedoclimatic conditions in Benin

This dataset comprises environmental DNA (eDNA) sequences obtained from the rhizosphere of Digitaria exilis (fonio), a cereal crop cultivated in West Africa. The sequencing effort was conducted as part of a doctoral study aimed at characterising bacterial community structures associated with fonio rhizosphere across contrasting pedoclimatic conditions. DNA was extracted from rhizosphere soil samples and subjected to 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing, targeting the V4–V5 regions. Library preparation followed standard protocols for Illumina paired-end sequencing and was performed by Genoscreen Innovative Genomics. For each sample, two FASTQ files were generated (R1 and R2), corresponding to forward and reverse reads; the reads did not contain the primer sequences. These raw reads can be used for downstream microbial diversity and composition analyses (e.g., taxonomic assignment, alpha/beta diversity, community profiling).
