Staff in Australia's Schools, 2006-2007

As part of Staff in Australia's Schools, 2006-2007 survey, there were four online surveys conducted to provide a detailed picture of the Australian teacher and school leader workforces, and to gather information to assist in future planning. The surveys covered teachers and leaders (principals, deputy/vice principals) in primary and secondary schools. They were asked about their qualifications, the reasons they became teachers, current position, and professional learning activities. The surveys with teachers also asked about the respondent's career in teaching, activities outside teaching, future career intentions, and views on teaching, while the surveys with leaders also asked about the preparation for the leadership role, the respondent's career in schools, activities outside teaching, future career intentions, views on the leadership role, and staffing in the respondent's school. Background variables included age, gender and country of birth.
