Dancing Female figure, thought to be a portrait of Praxilla of Sikyon

Found in the garden of the Hadrian's Villa, the Roman statue depicts a female dancing and it is supposed to be the poetess Praxilla, probably holding a musical instrument in her hands at the same time. Parts of the sculptured body are being revealed in the swaying of her feminine movements. It is part of a collection of which only eight pieces have survived, and this is known by the name of Berliner Dancer.这件罗马雕塑发现于哈德良别墅（Hadrian's Villa）的花园中，刻画了一位翩翩起舞的女性，据考证其原型为女诗人普拉克西拉（Praxilla），彼时其手中或持有一件乐器。随着她柔美的身姿摇曳，雕塑躯体的局部轮廓得以尽显。该雕像属于一组仅存八件的藏品，此件以《柏林舞者》（Berliner Dancer）之名为人熟知。
