Whole genome sequencing of Streptococcus isolates from study of rheumatoid arthritis patients and first-degree relatives

Study examined oral microbiome of RA patients, first-degree relatives and healthy controls. 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing revealed differential abundance of members of the family Streptococcaceae separating RA from healthy samples. Fifteen streptococcal isolates were recovered and whole genome sequencing was undertaken.
