资源简介:
Bacterial community analysis of the gastrointestinal tracts of O. mykiss (rainbow trout), fed supplemented diets of spent S. cerevisiae (brewer's spent yeast), and H. illucens (black soldier fly) larvae cultured on brewer spent grain. Brewer's spent yeast and brewer's spent grain, byproducts of the brewing process, have little-to-no value. However, due to the litany of proteins and micro-nutrients they posses, they may hold value as prebiotics or growth additives in the diets of farmed rainbow trout. Following an eight week feeding trial of supplemented diet, a microbiome analysis, focused on the gastrointestinal bacteria of the experimental trout, was performed to determine if there was any microbial shifting within the trout. Moreover, to determine if their was a correlation between the increased growth of the trout with any potential microbial shifting.
