IODP Expedition 353 Thin section images

Hard rock and sediment thin section images were acquired using either the JRSO-developed Petrographic Image Capture and Archival Tool (PICAT) imager or (rarely) an upright microscope and a digital camera. Sample images are acquired in unpolarized, polarized, and/or cross-polarized light. Image files are presented compressed by hole.本数据集涵盖硬岩与沉积岩薄片图像，采集方式分为两类：多数情况下采用JRSO开发的岩相图像捕获与存档工具（Petrographic Image Capture and Archival Tool，简称PICAT）成像仪，极少数情况下使用正置显微镜搭配数码相机。样本图像可在非偏振光、偏振光及正交偏振光环境下采集。所有图像文件均按钻孔单元进行压缩存储。
