North Sea DOM bacteria and dynamics Targeted Locus (Loci). marine metagenome

The objective of this study was to examine the variations of bacterial communities in relation to DOM and various environmental parameters on short time scales, using high resolution techniques. Surface water samples were taken daily over a period of twenty days and hourly over a period of 24h including the onset of the summer phytoplankton bloom. Bacterial community composition and molecular DOM composition were assed via 16S rRNA tag sequencing and ultrahigh resolution Fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR-MS), respectively.
