Effectiveness of a Structured Maternal Engagement Programme on Acute Respiratory Infection Prevention Knowledge and Home-Based Practices among Mothers of Under-Five Children: A Quasi-Experimental Study from Dehradun, Uttarakhand

This OSF repository contains the underlying datasets associated with a quasi-experimental study evaluating the effectiveness of a structured, multi-component maternal engagement programme on improving ARI-related knowledge and home-based preventive practices among mothers of under-five children in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. A total of 300 mothers were enrolled (Experimental group: n=150; Control group: n=150) through purposive sampling from community paediatric facilities. The experimental group received a six-month programme comprising health education sessions, skill-based caregiving demonstrations, localised visual learning materials, and mobile-based reminder messages. Outcomes were assessed at baseline (pre-test) and at six months (post-test) using pre-validated instruments. All datasets are anonymised; no personal identifiers are included. Data are shared in accordance with open science principles under a CC0 1.0 Public Domain Dedication license.
