Genome sequence and annotation of <i>Pseudomonas shiyinensis</i> sp. nov. ST4

Pseudomonas sp. ST4 is a potent biocontrol agent against sugarcane smut disease, acting primarily by inhibiting the sexual mating of the fungal pathogen Sporisorium scitamineum. However, the genetic basis of its antifungal activity has remained unexplored. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of ST4 and delineate it as a novel species, Pseudomonas shiyinensis sp. nov., based on comprehensive genomic, phylogenetic, and chemotaxonomic analyses.
