Characterisations, yield and purity rates on Light Packagin Waste Sorting

One of the objectives of the Plasticircle project has been to improve the sorting of post consumer packaging. Near Infrared (NIR) sorting is used commonly in the waste industry to recover materials of value from mixed streams. A high level review of the waste composition in the three pilot cities has been carried out, along with specification of the sorted product requirements and an initial study into the sorting efficiency of the PICVISA NIR unit. Present attached documents report results of the sorting performance on the waste streams coming from the project.
