NRS-15785 | Guidelines for Coal Mining with Respect to Subsidence

These guidelines for coal leaseholders, road construction and power transmission authorities were produced as reference tools with in intension of assisting the construction of infrastructure which reduces the impact of mine subsidence. The guidelines were produced by the Mines Subsidence Board in association with other intested New South Wales agencies including the Roads and Traffic Authority, Coal Operations Australia Limited, the Department of Mineral Resources, the Department of Urban Affairs and Planning, the NSW Minerals Council, Transgrid adn other power supply authorities. Specific sections in each guideline cover the roles of power supply authorities and the Road and Traffic Authority and matters relating specifically to transmission lines or roadways.The series commenced by August 1988 . The contents consists of the third edition of the guidlelines relating to coal mining and transmission lines, a the first edition of the guidelines relating to roads, both published in 1997. The guidelines contain a contents page and appendices which set out details of the effects of subsidence upon transmssion lines and roads, measures which can be taken to minimise the effects of subsidence and case studies. Information is presented through data, graphs, diagrams and photographs.
