Population genomics of Pacific herring (Clupea pallasii) through space and time

The Pacific herring population in Prince William Sound Alaska collapsed in 1993 following the Exxon Valdez oil spill in 1989 and viral epizootic. This population has failed to recover in the nearly three decades since the spill and subsequent collapse. The dataset contains whole-genome sequence data of a total of 892 individual Pacific herring populations: The data were collected through time (1991 to 2017) in Prince William Sound, and from two additional Alaska regions as references, to offer clues into the causes and consequences of this collapse. The data were also collected throughout the species range (from California to Alaska) to provide context for genomic change through time and between regions.
