This contains the original simulation data used by the paper 'Testing field-line mapping of electric fieldin Earth’s magnetosphere', submitted to Journal of Geophysical Research - Space Physics. The data were obtained by the global MHD simulation (REPPU) [Tanaka, 2015, doi:10.1002/9781118978719.ch13] with Level 6. The VTK files (Visualization Toolkit format) contains physical variables in the magnetosphere and the ionosphere at t = 152.339, 177.316, and 182.903 minutes (in MHD time). The VTK file can be opened by Visualization Toolkit, or 3-D visualization software packages like "VisIt", and "ParaView". "VisIt" was used to plot the figures. The SAV file (IDL saveset format) contains physical variables in the ionosphere at t = 152.339, 177.316, and 182.903 minutes (in MHD time). The sav file can be opened by IDL. By typing IDL> restore,'tablei-0070.sav'you can load the file to the memory of IDL. Type 'help' to confirm the variables that are loaded.
