SparkEel™ is a next-generation artificial heart system that combines a spiral chamber geometry, programmable matter technology, and resonance-driven actuation to deliver dynamic flow control and adaptive patient-specific performance. Drawing inspiration from nature’s efficiency (e.g. hummingbird wingbeats), SparkEel™ utilizes SparkGel-PEM, a bioinspired programmable gel, to achieve self-healing interfaces, dynamic shape adaptation, and enhanced biocompatibility.The spiral chamber design enables efficient peristaltic flow, reducing turbulence and thrombosis risk while maintaining naturalistic pulsatility. Integrated sensors monitor flow, pressure, and tissue interface, allowing an onboard AI to optimize performance in real time.
