NRS-4977 | Case papers (Australian Military Forces)

This series consists of case records of returned servicemen attending Broughton Hall for psychiatric assessment and treatment. The register number cited in the list normally reflects the individual's service or regimental number rather than an admissions register entry.The case papers may include: the soldier's military details; personal and family history; clinical notes of the patient's mental and physical condition; medical board assessments; correspondence; and war pension assessments.After Broughton Hall became a public institution in 1920, existing files continued to be used for military patients but very few new files were opened after mid-1920. Most later admissions will be found in the successor series [NRS4979, NRS4980].
