Pyroxene zoning in mafic-ultramafic intrusions - testing prospectivity indicator model for Ni-Cu sulfide deposits. Regions include: Bushveld, Caroline, Mt Etna, Jimberlana, Jinchuan, Kotalahti, Norilsk-Talnakh, Nova, OraBanda, Tongariro, TurkeyCreek, Wankawanka dyke.
In this study, we aim to determine the cause, extent and robusticity of this chemical zonation in pyroxene by examining crystals from a number of settings, using a recently recognised enhancement to our standard protocol for synchrotron XFM mapping; using a lower energy (7050eV).
