Chinese Migrant worker survey in 2020

The dataset used in this study was collected through a large-scale survey conducted in 2020 across 46 Chinese cities, targeting rural-to-urban migrant workers. The final sample includes 23,232 valid responses from individuals originating from 304 prefecture-level cities nationwide. The survey captured rich individual-level data on housing conditions (including tenure type, location, and affordability), urban belonging, demographic and socioeconomic characteristics (such as age, gender, marital status, education, income, hukou status, migration distance and duration), and social network strength. The geographic scope includes first-tier, second-tier, and lower-tier cities, allowing for comparative analysis across city types.

本研究使用的数据集源自2020年针对中国46座城市开展的大规模问卷调查，调研对象为农村进城务工人员。最终有效样本共计23232份，受访者的原籍覆盖全国304个地级市。本次调研采集了丰富的个体层面数据，涵盖住房状况（包括住房权属、居住区位与住房负担能力）、城市归属感、人口与社会经济特征（如年龄、性别、婚姻状况、受教育程度、收入水平、户籍身份、迁移距离与迁移时长）以及社会网络强度。调研覆盖一线城市、二线城市及低层级城市，可开展不同城市层级间的对比分析。
