The Coastguard AIS MMSI 003160056 was deployed on 2016-01-01 at Lake St. Clair. Lake St. Clair is a freshwater lake that lies between the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of Michigan. This device is a Automatic Identification Systems Receiver. Land-based Automatic Identification System (AIS) receivers provide data that track marine vessels within range of the receiver. The data are used to monitor, understand and mitigate the impacts of marine shipping activities. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
