VPRS 5177 Outward Letter Books, Usher of the Legislative Council

This series is a letter book, containing copies of outward unregistered correspondence, created by the Usher of the Legislative Council. (This was an administrative position within Parliament not covered by the Public Service Commissioner. The names of people occupying such positions were published each year in the Blue Books see Papers Presented to Parliament.)Letter books were the means by which copies of correspondence despatched from the office were retained for future reference.

本系列档案为书信簿，辑录立法会议员侍从官（Usher of the Legislative Council）拟制的未登记外发信函副本。（该岗位为议会内设行政职位，不受公共服务专员管辖；担任该职位人员的名单每年均会刊载于蓝皮书（Blue Books），具体可参阅《提交议会的文件》（Papers Presented to Parliament）。）书信簿用于留存办公室外发的信函副本，以供日后查阅参考。
