The goal of this study is to identify differentially regulated genes after activation of XA21-medaited immunity. We used Kitaake control plants as well as transgenic lines expressing XA21 under its native and under the maize ubiquin promoter. We treated these plants with water for mock treatments, a non-sulfated 21 amino acid RaxX peptide, and the active, sulfated 21 amino acid RaxX peptide.
