Fluorescence microscopy image of two P. putida strains, each with basal expression of either msfGFP or mScarlet from the genomic Tn7 insertion site. Population dynamics of strains exhibiting obligate dependency. Minimal medium supplemented with 1 g/l cellobiose and 1 g/l xylobiose as carbon source. As part of four images used to calculate cell clump formation. Hypothesis: with a carbon source that promotes the dependency, clumps will form as a response to cooperation.
